222 including a few silly outs and a collapse in lower order.....

in retrospect this is a very silly westindian side.

and this side cannot really be feeling good about itself. I get a sense of resignation about it, that people like gayle and shive in particular arent fighting, energised by prospects but resigned.

their careers have witnessed a never-ending parade of westindian bullshit that has not ended, of which they were integral parts, at times as both villein and protagonist.

it does not matter which but they are clearly jaded at this time and only a decent, honestly selected westindies side, happy with itself may energise these 2 anymore

how can a side introduce a new player..Devon Thomas...his first international game at the senior level, though full of international experience at junior level, and he walks in and throws his wicket away, especially since he was selected for his batting in ODI games?

there must be some plan of approach that disciplines the attitude of players in the process of working out a game...playing out a game...one that exposes to a player what his approach must be regardless?

and isnt this the responsibulity of the head coach? what are they paying a head coach for if this nonsense keeps happening all the time?

I have sort of defended Otis Gibson in the past but that defense is wearing thin. all defenses for that coach has worn thin. all told there has not be an inch of improvement since he has been coach.

in fact westindian selection has deteriorated since Gibson has been coach with the silly selection of Sammy as captain, insistence on the inclusion of Devon Smith, the omission of lil Simmons who would have been the perfect selection as keeper for this wurl skup...not Carlton baugh

westindies admin has been shooting itself in the foot ever since the ascenion of Pat Rosseau to the wicb chair.

Rosseau's rise signified the rise of the westindian blac and brown elites to the westindian cricket power, and their reign so far has been nothing short of CATASTROPHIC

2 bright spots...Darren Bravo is the truth. he continues to grow. and his brother Dwayne seemed back to his ebullient, contributing self. but he is now injured...a most unfortunate developoment.

but this kind of run of lousy luck hits sides like the westindies, brought on by is own malfeasance and internal corruption. the players are all disatisfied, unhappy, go through the motions mostly and that emotional mode attracts, invites bad luck.

players are falling down one or 2 a day. now that Bravo is out at least pressure on Sammys place abates...but only his place as a player. a

s captain however, he is a non-starter, a pointless selection that cannot be doing anything at all in favour of team morale

anyhow we shud expect westinies to leave this WC at the first exit point.

I dont believe westindies will win a single match for there is no team above us in the rankings we can beat...not one despite the pseudo optimism displayed by Gayle, Shive and Richardson...and lately Big B

westindies does not have a team.... thats what we do not have. what we have sent to the WC is a collecton of players, poorly led, dispirited and defeated from the start.

and future prospects looking at the westindian season ahead appear dim indeed, for the entrenched corruption at the heart of the westinian game is alive and well.

Sammy and Gibson will remain at the head and unless the wicb intend to drop all the senior players, Sammy does not have a hope in hell of commanding respect from the 10 players he leads.

if a dottie wicb can make sammy captain they can do anything at all

buttsy backside and clones haynes and Browne will have to drop Shive, Sarwan, gayle, Big B, Benn, Continue to leave out Ramdin, do not pick Edwards and Samuels and prolly Taylor.

I would not be sooprised that if Sammy continues as captain to see a wholly different westindies side by the end of this year

it was good match..a bowler short n lack of confidence was being showing...I hope bravo wil b back on field with 100% fit... Lack of inexperince shown by Devon Thomas resulted in 30 runs short in the slog overs... Come on guys..u hav proved something...make big out of it...All the best for the coming match..

Only place for Chanders is on the first flight out of India.

The West Indies selectors continue to carry a dead weight in Chanderpaul. That guy continues to use up overs like he did in the previous world cup. Pollard is also being sacrificed by batting too low. The team for the next match in batting order should read Gayle, Smith, Darren Bravo, Sarwan, Dwayne Bravo, Pollard, Kirk Edwards, Thomas, Sammy, Benn, roach.Sammy must also learn to keep a slip in place when he is defending a small total. He must also study the strengths of the opposing batsmen. A sweeper and a slip should have been in place early for De villiers. Too many offside boundaries were on offer to him. West Indies must not play brainless cricket but must sit and plan carefully for their opponents. The captain Sammy must also learn to play in the V and avoid hitting across the line. He is no Viv Richards.

lankan_neutral just because you dont like pollard it doesnt mean that he is a rubbish player.Just give him a right number to bat not at number 9 where he wont get more than 10-15 balls.I stil feel number 6 or number 7 is right for him.

Cant understand why ppl are gunning for Pollard what more he could do he was sent out in the 46th or 47th over with too little time left i dont think he could have done much.He is seriously wasted down the order at number 9 i mean common thats a tactical blunder. He should not be lower than number 7.Also west indies would do well get in an extra bowler in the form of Ravi Rampul in place a batsman.they dont have enough bowlers and they rely mostly on the diddly doddly medium pacers of Sammy, or bravo or pollard.they need an extra seamer

Kieron Pollard...too much hype for a mediocre player. The only time he ticks is when he gets lucky enough to hit some sixes.

Master stroke to bring in Steyn to get Pollard. A batsman like Pollard - you get him out quickly - usually the difference between a WI win and a WI collapse! You got that one right - GS!

Congrats to the Bravos. Chanderpaul is useless. WI selectors I urge you to send that man home. He is wasting deliveries and incapable of any power hitting. Out with Chanderpaul.
