all I arks is speculation on if simmons wud be a better coach dan gibbo.
anyway yuh right. no coach is good enuff. its up to the players. so why have a head coach at all?
dats the point. i want tuh save money
fiyah the head coach, hire no more. restore the captain to his proper place..where the buck stops

Mapoui,
Given the limited resources and the players Simmons working with, he is ahead of Gibson!
Simmons Non-associate team defeated England yet Gibboo couldn't get his team to do the same. Ireland defeated a top rank team (England) something Gibson can't do with West Indies. Gibson has better players in WI to work with and more resources.
I've seen enough of Gibson to know he can't do the job. Here is the supposed HEAD case ah mean coach dividing the team rather than uniting them. There is NO "team spirit" in the West Indies team. Gibson think fitness is all about coaching..
Waqar Younis the bowler is the head coach of Pakistan and did a damn job with his team @ the WC.
Kirstin, with NO coaching certificate and NO previous coaching experience took India to the top.

yuh right Bally. I looked as carefull as I could at Gibo in interviews. he is a minnow as a personality, one of dem ordinary kind of fellas who know only brown-nosing as a means by which to survive.
away with him as coach. and no replacement. save the money!

Seems like unnu still bitter with Gibbo for dropping Shiv, Sars and Deonarine to rhatid!!

, the fact is we were a crap one day team BEFORE he arrived, we lost 4-0 in Australia just as he was about to take over so it's hardly a surprise that we never won the world cup, but in the Test format WE GOT A DRAW IN SL WHEN EVERYONE EXPECTED US TO LOSE, i know the rain played a part but it helped both teams not just us,
Gibbo has come from a very professional environment having been England's bowling coach for a few years with good success, so the man does know what it takes to run a good ship, but he needs support too, during the SA series he said he wanted a batting coach and yet that still hasn't come to fruition, and when you look at our batting in the world cup it's VITAL that that issue gets addressed before the Pak series (i've heard they are talking to someone about it) ,
As for Simmons, well clearly he's a good coach and has potential, it was rumoured that he was gonna part of a "double act" with Gibbo but decided to turn down the WICB's offer, but if Gibbo does go this year then i'd like someone like Jamie Siddons, a young coach who has done some great things with Bangladesh, whatever the case we're gonna need a top coach in the next three years or so to handle the great talent we've got coming through.

This is about Simmons and Gibson. Simmons took a part-time village team and beat England. Gibson couldn't do it his bwoy Sammy and team. Gibson has been coaching this team for 13 months now and we are going backwards. WI dropped to #9 in the ICC ODI ranking under his leadership. Yet, I didn't hear him one day take responsibility only pointing fingers. You have to admit that Gibson is over his head...
Players have to pull them weight except the captain and coach!
Regarding Sri Lanka, Gayle triple and RAIN that save we. What happened in the ODIs in SL? Both team (test & ODI) have the same core players...we regressing under Ottis!

Yep we dropped to 9th AND NOW WE'RE BACK IN 8TH UNDER HIS LEADERSHIP too!!

, you also seem to be forgeting that in all but two of Sri-lanka ODI's we've been missing key players, Baugh, Dwayne, Taylor, Barath and Edwards would have made our team much better at the world cup but Gibbo didn't have them to use, if he had i'm sure we'd have done much better, so try looking at the bigger picture instead of just hating on Gibbo.
IMO he deserves to coach the team for the next two series, lose both then we can start to call for his head, because thus far he's had two test series against SA and SL (who were both in the top four in the rankings) and he lost one and drew the other so he's not that bad.
