Very good squad to be honest and i can't wait to see how the yutes get on, the amazing thing is we could have picked a much more established line-up with the likes of Holder, Dorwich, Burton, Stoll, Cariah, Chase, Blackwood etc but i'm glad they've given other kids a chance alongside some real class acts like Brathwaite, Khan, Beaton and Alleyne,
Brathwaite (c)
Campbell (bowls off-breaks)
Alleyne (can bowl left-arm-spin)
Saunders/Christmas/Cross
Hodge (talented batter and left-arm-spinner)
Greaves (all rounder who bowls with good pace)
Katwaroo (wicketkeeper/batsman)
Mayers (pacer who can bat)
Khan (Brilliant leggy)
Beaton (right-arm fast)
Jones (left-arm-fast)
That would be my line-up, the only one i haven't heard too much about is Jerome Jones but from what i gather he's got serious pace and is a lefty who can swing it, i expect him to partner Beaton with the new ball, the top three batters pretty much pick themselves, Campbell can be a little hot and cold but i expect Brathwaite to tear up this competition to be honest and Alleyne is top class too, Kaveem Hodge is one of the youngest of the group but a massive talent himself, the real issue will be who plays out of Saunders, Chritsmas and Cross, Saunders has the most experience and Cross made loads of runs for Guyana in the last u19s competition but the word on the street is this kid Christmas IS THE REAL DEAL, i think he's only 15 or 16 but already there's been speculation that he might get picked for the senior side soon.
So the batting looks strong to me and the bowling unit looks well balanced and very strong i think, i expect Khan to make a massive impact and Beaton too, Jones is young but he'll snatch some wickets and so will Hodge, Katwaroo is also meant to be a very decent batter aswell as a good wicketkeeper.

The only player I know of that lot is Kraigg Brathwaite....
Tours like this can only be good for the youngsters. Even if they lose to Australia, it's this kind of exposure outside of the Caribbean that they need in order to develop.

Man...is nuff licks we go put on dem Aussie yutes...so I see it!

U mean Trinidad's senior team right? Surely, he isn't anywhere near ready for a senior WI call up.
I too like the squad, and I like that they indentified Kraigg for captain. The only problem I have is that the territorial boards don't seem to be in sync with the WI senior team demands in terms of grooming worthy WI captains. There isn't a single captain of a territorial side right now that can realisitcally (i.e. all things considered) captain the WI side in this 'rebuilding phase' that we're currently in.
It will be mighty disappointing to see Kraigg after being captain of the junior WI team having to be captained by the likes of Sharmar Brooks on his territorial team. Sharmar is no way near Kraigg's league as a batsman and he certainly is not as bright a prospect as Kraigg for a senior team call up. So why will the BIM selectors go for Sharmar over Kraigg? Beats me!
Can't wait mehself to see how the lads perform. I say we'll sweep dem!

Being a good batman doesn't translate into a good leader.
How many top batsmen were good captains?

Campbell has opened for both the Jamaican u19s and West Indies u19s, Alleyne has also opened for Bim youth teams (alongside Brathwaite) and Surrey u18s so it won't be a problem at all, i'm really excited to see what our lads can do, personally i think they've got a great chance of winning the series.

Yes it will give Kraigg some good experience, to the WICB's credit they have made Jason Holder the captain of the A-team so they are preparing some yutes for the future, they could have easily picked Odean Brown or Bernard who were also in the A-team and much more experienced players.

Yep, some of the brightest prospects we have like Brathwaite, Alleyne and Khan are involved so it will be fun watching them put licks pon di Aussies
