Jala: "For those, including Mr. Holding, who continue to castigate Mr. Sammy; if Bravo and Gayle refused to sign their contracts, Chanderpaul and Sarwan refused the captaincy, what options were left for the WICB to chose from?...Also, what was WI's record/ranking with the "star" players?....so quickly we forget what actually got us here!...."

If the WICB hadn't, through its own greed and ineptitude, allowed the situation to become so abject, you wouldn't see so many of our best players reject the captaincy or run off to the IPL.

The solution is not to pick Sammy as captain, and then pick the team....
On the contrary, pick the teams first, and then pick the captain from them.
That's how they did it in the old days....
Can Sammy make either the ODI side or the Test team on merit?

your naivety is on clear display....
1. After Sir Carl, Sarwan is my fav WI cricketer followed by Roger Harper
2. I have never disrespected shiv, but I BELIEVE he should have retired from ODIs after the WC
3. In 2007, I was the one who did a thorough write up on CC.COM on Bishoo after seeing him bowl in the nets at providence during the Sri Lanka series....
so Mr. west..whatever, you are clueless....

I see yuh in de mood of addressing those that yuh have HIGH respect for as "Mr"...Thats nice....
BTW I don't have a problem with the notion of Shiv retiring from ODI's but how it is being done is DISRESPECTFUL to someone who in my mind always play "WI" cricket and to force him into retirement is absurd especially when yuh replacing him with FOOLS that can't even mek a WI A team.....Remember de WI does nat have de luxury like India who can drop Dravid and VVS from their ODI team because of their talent depth!!!!
Yuh gwan kill Bishoo as soon as he cannot get wickets in a couple of games juss like yuh doing to Sars right now!!!
