Explain this to me!

How did a bonafide failure like Marlon Samuels get back into the West Indies team ?

I just checked marlon's stats on howstat
28.73...samuels average in 29 tests

29.92...samuels average in 109 onedayers

38.14...samuels average in 76 first class matches
MARLON SAMUELS IS A BONAFIDE FAILURE!

How this man Marlon Samuels replace Sars, Shiv or gayle in the West Indies team ?

Sars avg 41 in tests and 43 in onedayers.

Shiv average 49 in tests and 41 in onedayers.

Gayle average 41 in tests and 39 in onedayers
How can Samuels replace any of those 3 ?

Like I said in another thread, it is crystal clear that Coach Gibson and CEO Hillaire see Shiv, Sars, and Gayle, the most productive players the WI has produced the past 15 years, as ENEMIES!

No way marlon Samuels should ever be in any West Indies team. The man is a bonafide failure.

To be honest, prior to his selection - on the basis of his form in the regional competitions - i was in agreement with his selection, however watching him bat I am very, very unimpressed. Very, very poor and he seems not to be batting according to the situation. Is he so nervous about his place in the team? His batting does not suggest any sort of permanence at the crease nor do I trust his running between the wickets. Therefore, while I might give hime one more chance in the one dayers I would not say he is an automatic for the test team. I know they are different players but I pick Canderpaul, Sarwan or Nash ahead of him for the test series.

Maybe the bowling in the region is of mediocre quality?

The Black Prince ,

good to see you bro...:) Marlon did tell the selectors that he wasn't ready couple months ago for the world cup but don't know what changed since then

Marlon performed exceptional in the regional 4-day and T20 but he looks out of sorts now.

yes he is better than he has shown but he shud be dropped all the same. in addition to his very faulty and expensive running between the wickets he is a liability in ODI

he shud be kept for the tests...period. he is not for ODI
