I was remembering when Haynes came into the WI team having been a middle order batsman for Barbados. And that man worked on his game so till he formed one of the most formidable opening partnerships that cricket has ever seen.mapoui wrote:... haynes knows how to bat...few know better. how could he not get improvement from Edwards? Technically sound foundation and able to rip an attack to shreds once he got in. Pure genius.
I remember him carrying his bat through the innings in England in very diffuclt conditions. Did he do it twice in a test match?
So if these young cricketers are unable to respect his pedigree and learn from him then they need their heads examined.

Still, it's going to take Edwards more than a few days between ODIs to correct his flaws....
