In terms of production with the bat will Darren Lil Bravo end up being a Brian Lara(test average 52.89) or a Carl Hooper(test average 36.46) ?

Lil Bravo surely looks pretty at the wicket---he poses like the great Lara. But most likely Lil Bravo will end his career with stats like Carl Hooper(36.46 test avg).

Right now Lil Bravo's first class batting average is 37.42

NO WAY LIL BRAVO WILL AVERAGE 50+ IN TESTS LIKE LARA. He'd be lucky to average 40+

Pretty boy Lil Bravo will most likely match another pretty boy---Carl Hooper---in terms of production with the bat.

SIR CARL AVERAGED 36.46 IN 102 TESTS.

And how much did Lara average age 22 then? yutes don't just start with a 50 average and keep it, THEY EARN IT OVER A CAREER, after the SL Tests Darren's average was over 60, now it's gone down after these two innings, but that's just the way it is for youngsters, they have ups and downs, i mean even Barath has stuggled at times too after hitting a ton on debut, what the boy needs now is experience, and he's certainly getting that, considering the state of the pitch it's a little unfair to criticize him too much, especially as he's only played FOUR TESTS thus far.

Brian Lara had a first class average in the mid to high 40s when he made his test debut----he ended his career with a 50+ first class and test average.

Carl Hooper averaged in 40s in first class class when he made his test debut---he ended his career with a first class average in the high 40s----his test average was only 36.46 but like Jala pointed out---Hooper averaged 40+ in his last 8 years in test.

Lil Bravo currently averages 37.42 in first class----there is no way he will average in the 50s in tests. He'll likely end up in the high 30s or early 40s

Did you say Lil Bravo already better than Hoops ?

ARE YOU CRAZY ?

I have seen Lil Bravo bat and I saw Hoops bat.

Lil Bravo right now is full of style, but no way is he a class batsman like Hoops.

Check out Hoops last 10 years in test cricket.

PREDICTION: Lil Bravo will likely average around 38-40 in tests.

no! mih nah crazy! mih see thngs clear and Hoops is not a favourite cricketer of mine nor one of my favourite westindian cricket personalities.

he is down at the bottom of both lists.

I see the entity hunte/hilaire bring him to wuk in westindiec cricket.

I doh begrude none ah dem no job but I am watching the collection taking place at the wicb...Gibbo, Richardson, Butts etc., a ton ah yes men! and psychophantic, right-wing, anti-nationalist types, who sinking westindies cricket.

Hoops is the biggest one of dat kind, going to worship at the shrine to Hansie Cronje an' all dat

a man play over a 100 tests and ent make 6k+ runs

lil Bravo go do better dan dat!

Tests 102 173 15 5762 233 36.46 11462 50.27 13 27 633 63 115 0

hooper in tests above.

the only way lil Bravo does not overhaul this wud be due to the reducing number of tests being played these days

No question Hoops overall numbers(36.46 avg in 102 tests) were mediocre.

Lil Bravo is talented and will have a long run in WI cricket----but with a current first class average of 37.42 Lil Bravo will struggle to average 40+ in tests.
