The nephew of Manzoor Baksh the vice-president of Preysal Cricket Club was shot in the neck at GuaracaraPark during the Preysal versus SIS Central Sports clash on Thursday night. It is alleged that Aga Baksh was sitting in the Western Stand at Guaracara Park, when a vendor fell close to him and this triggered his gun which ended by depositing a bullet into the neck of Baksh. Eyewitnesses said he was on the ground for about half an hour before a Petrotrin Ambulance came and took him to San Fernando General hospital. They reported that the fire services who were on hand at the Park had no ambulance and this caused a delay. Emergency surgery was then performed on Baksh to remove the bullet and he is now in danger of being paralyzed because the bullet damaged his spinal cord.
