Shiv Chanderpaul was discarded from the West Indies oneday team by coach Otis Gibson and chief selector Clyde Butts after the world cup.

SHIV WANTED TO KEEP PLAYING BUT GIBSON AND BUTTS SAID THE YOUNGER PLAYERS HAD MORE TO OFFER THE WEST INDIES TEAM. SO SHIV WAS DROPPED.

Well how have the youngsters been performing ?

They are shitting their pants---struggling to make runs---looking like schoolboys at the wicket.

BUT COACH GIBSON AND SELECTOR CLYDE BUTTS ARE DEAD SET AGAINST BRINGING SHIV BACK INTO THE ONEDAY TEAM.

Gibson and Butts are too ashamed to admit that it was a mistake to drop the most reliable batsman the West Indies has produced in the past 17 years.

Here are Shiv's oneday stats again:

In 268 oneday matches Shiv has scored 8778 runs at an average of 41.60, a strike rate of 70.76 along with 11 hundreds and 59 fifties.

BUT COACH GIBSON AND SELECTOR BUTTS CLAIM THAT SHIV IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO PLAY ONE DAY CRICKET.

funny both of them couldn't hold a spot on the WI team yet they know what it takes... These guys are clueless! The Woundies will suffer until they start selecting a full strength team. You win with best or lose the best, anything else is just stupidity.

I suspect there is some envy and jealousy on part of Gibson and Butts against 36 year old Shiv.

Listen! We all agree that Shiv had a poor tour of Sri Lanka and a poor world cup.

But Gibson and Butts were over eager to discard the man.

THERE IS ONLY 1 BATSMAN IN THE WEST INDIES WHO IS AHEAD OF SHIV IN ONEDAYERS----GAYLE!

Shiv should be selected ahead of every other batsman.

I was surprised to see Shiv's continued exclusion from the team for these one dayers.

you chaps doan realise that since Shiv made that statement about how the WI team/management panicked at the 1996 WC, he has been treated like garbage????

Add to the formula, the cappo for the '96 team was named manager for the WI team since the 2011 WC...and you think its any surprise that since then Shiv has been chopped off the team!

One of the reasons we panicked back in 1996 was because the coach panicked, the entire dressing room panicked and that went down to the batsmen in the middle.
