My team..

Barath
Simmons
Sarwan
Darren
Chanders
Samuels
Baugh (wk)
Sammy
Rampaul
Roach
Bishoo

I know Bina is a bouncy pitch but we simply cannot afford to go into the game without a spinner, also playing with one batsman short would be a major risk aswell, Nash will probably play instead of Samuels (especially after he went and celebrated with Gayle) but imo we'd be better off playing Samuels instead of putting three left handers in the middle order for Harby to feast on.

is sammy is to play and 6 bastmen are picked den westindies are a bowler short.

Sammy, Bishoo, Roach and Ravi are not going to get India out twice.

if 5 bowlers are picked to compensate for Sammy den westindies are a batsman short.

I prefer to go with a bastman short and 4 real bowlers in Edwards, rampaul, Roach and Bishoo

They said we couldn't bowl out Pakistan too but we bowled them out three out of four times!!, India haven't got Sarwag, Gambir or Tendy so i'm not too worried about their batting line-up, plus most of them have problems with the short ball anyway!!, and Sammy is gonna play so there's no point even debating the issue, i believe we're better off going with six batters so at least we can get a draw out of it if our bowlers struggle.

playing for a draw is negative t start with, play for a draw and lose. play for the win and draw. dats seems the way it happens.

but this is why I say 5 batsmen and 4 bowlers plus sammy!

sammy looked useless on the Sabina wicket, with no pace to really exploit the wicket. from that I belive he will be useless in the test. so I leave him in the side but write him off as batsman and bowler

India still have laxman and dhoni plus others who I am sure will turn out to be very good.
if we face dem up with my 4 bowlers we can get then twice, or keep them from developing a domination of us

I am convinced with shive and sars back in form, backed up by Darren at #5, we will have the batting power to score enuff to be competititve.

we may get something from baugh with his new, more sane approach to batting. and the tail always wags a bit.

with my 4 bowlers and the sabina park pitch..which will also favour westindies batting...250-300 will be a challenge for India, and leave westindies with a chance to win the game..far less draw it.

it wud be the same at kensington and hopefully for the last game as well. but Roach, Bishoo and rampaul are simply not enuff to do the job. westindies must add a fourth real bowler even to have a chance of drawing the game

Going for a win is also about having enough runs on the board, imo our batting is still way to inconsistant for us to risk playing one less batsman, lets remember India are likely to have Mishra and Singh as spinners, both of them are very good and spin is what caused us so many problems against Pakistan, what happens if we pick another bowler and they still under perform? we'll lose the game anyway!!, therefore it's best to make sure we have enough runs to stay in the game before we think about bowling them out,

And to be honest Sammy was our best bowler in the ODI series, he had an off day at Bina but that doesn't mean it will be the same in the Tests, i thought he wouldn't take any wickets in the Pakistan Tests myself but he totally proved me wrong, Rampaul and Bishoo have been on fire of late so i'm confident they will take more wickets and Roach started to look decent again in the last ODI so hopefully he will take some wickets too.

well we will see. but Bish and Ravi cant do as much work that will be required if sammy does not fire....and raoch does not get back to himself.

there are Laxman, dravid and Dhoni in dat batting side. those men can bat..really really bat. and deh have few if any temperamental problems

Kohli can also bat but he is young. but in company with the experienced trio yu know he will come good.

the indian attutude is proper, correct. we can expect their young players to approach their game in dat way. and by now deh know how to approach batting at sabina. and dhoni and laxman in partuclar can ply shots.

without edwards the bowling looks iffy to me..very short of experience. I wud even drop Roach for Edwards to shore up the experience angle..just in case Indian get going

if we pick 5 bats men who gets left out..either samuels or sknash.

I dont think we lose much in those 2. there is no gurantee dat either will score. but there is a greater likelihood dat edwards will take wickets and cause problems for the Indian batting

It's all speculation right now, Edwards has hardly played any cricket since the four day competition ended and him not even getting an ODi match to warm up must tell you something!!, personally i don't see him playing, and yes their batsmen might get going and make it hard but what about if we lose three quick wickets to india's spinners and find ourselves 15/3? then we'd be wishing we had an extra batter!!,

A collaspe is never out of the question with this team man, Barath looked iffy the other day and got away with murder while he lasted, Simmons didn't do to well in the Tests against Pak while Darren and Sars have been hot and cold, so i still believe we need extra protection in the batting order, if we draw the first Test that's no crime, the coaches can assess the batting performances and then make a decision whether to add another bowler in the second Test in Bim.
