Our batting unit just isn't good enough man, and i don't think any kind of "batting coach" is gonna change that,

1. Simmons isn't a Test level batsman

2. Sarwans best days are long gone

3. Nash is a shadow of his former battling self

4. Sammy down the order is a damn joke with the bat

So i think it's time to shake things up now, our bowlers are consistantly giving us a chance to win the game but time and time again the batsmen undo all the good work,

Would be my team now, i've gone for Deonarine because even though he could be frustrating he was still able to get in most of the time and make runs, in the last game he played for Guyana in a warm up match against Pakistan the other day and got 40, before that his last knocks for WI read as followed.

Not amazing but imo that kind of form us much better than what we have now, especially when you consider he done that against Steyn, Morkel etc,

I'd also give Kieran Powell his debut because he's an opener who has been in top form over the last year or so, he got a ton for the A-team and also a ton for Leewards vs England lions, ever since he went to the HPC his form as shot up and his FC average is 39 which isn't bad at all,

I've given Darren a chance because he's still young and learning the game, and like most youngsters he's having a lot of ups and downs but i'm sure he'll start to improve soon, i also picked Samuels because we all saw what he could do with that lovely 50 he got against Pak, and he was decent in the last ODI too,

Russell for Sammy should be an automatic if those fecking selectors have any sense but unfortunately they are the dumbest skunts around so it's not likely to happen , although Sammy's role at captain is apparently under review after this series so there is still hope yet.

chopping and changing will not make the slightest difference. westindies cricket is at total odds with itself. westindian authority while it makes war with its players cannot produce a wicket dat plays to westindian strength

westindian society seems to me to have arived at a stage at which the old bullshit can no longer achieve anything save a reproduction of itself.

it seems that the westindies must now produce a unified society focused on its own, collective, national self-interests, opposed to this current collection of warring parts that produces the failure we live..in everything...social failure in the region.

this very westindies team is capable of playing better cricket than it demonstrates all the time.. what atrophies the team is the complete breakdown in westindian society.

the recent incident and its escalating aftermath between Gayle and the wicb for example must leave the team emotionally cold, dispirited and mechanically stymied. its like when the parents in a home are fighting and the children witnessing the violence cannot eat well or sleep...cannot do anything like deh normally could.

but in the westindies it is much more than the players/wicb...for that situation is a product of the ovevrall wesindian condition of social failure
as I said last time I aint picking no team for it is a waste of time. this is why it is a waste of time. no aggregation of players selected for the westindies, can give of its best at this time

You can dump, drop, cut, change, recycle West Indian batsmen from now until thy kingdom come---the reality is there are very few quality batsmen in the Caribbean.

How many of the batsmen in your updated team has a FIRST CLASS average of 40 ?

If a batsman struggles to average 40 in first class cricket, that batsman will be mediocre at the International level.

Darren Bravo, Narsingh Deonarine, Marlon Samuels----they all have FIRST CLASS averages in the 30s.

BATSMEN WHOSE FIRST CLASS AVERAGE IS BELOW 40 WILL STRUGGLE IN TESTS.

Black Prince Sarwan average 40 IN THE TESTS and what has he done lately? imo a change just might do us the world of good, for example Chesney Hughes has been hitting tons in County cricket and averages around 36, why not give the yute a chance now? i think it's time for us to bite the bullet and let these "seniors" go, sticking with them isn't getting us anywhere.

Did you know that Sarwan's FIRST CLASS average is now below 40 ?

And his test average is on its way to dipping below 40.

On the current West Indies team---Simmons, Sarwan, Bravo, Samuels, Nash, Sammy, Baugh---they all average below 40 in FIRST CLASS.

It's no wonder that the West Indies team struggles to make 200 runs in tests.

Actually, on a deteriorating Sabina wicket they'll be lucky to crack 100.

hear nuh prince..when a batsman is young and he has a less than 40 average but potenial...he can move up establishing a 40+ avearge at the top of the game, even if he did not start with one.

if he he does not of course we can say the minus 40 was a hindrance..although we cant know for sure.

when a batsman starting at 18-22, has ability ..pedigree so to speak, I am not too worried about a -40 average

Darren Bravo currently has a FIRST CLASS hundred of 37.30

but

His test average going into the Jamaica test was 44.71

Bravo did poorly in the 1st innings---he only scored 18.

But he is at the wicket right now with the ROCK---the TIGER----hopefully the OLD/EXPERIENCED Tiger will motivate YOUNG Bravo to score his first test hundred.
