BEFORE HE MADE HIS TEST DEBUT!!..
Andmikesiva wrote: As for Kirk Edwards, his technique is too loose to open the batting in Tests. He could do it in ODIs, but not as a Test batsman. Maybe he could come in for Sarwan in the middle order, but I don't have much confidence in him right now....
If Kirk is the alternative, then I would rather stick with Sarwan, and hope he regains his form sooner rather than later.
PS You only have to look at replays of the ODIs to see that Kirk is extremely suspect to spin. It's not anything to do with trying to score fast, it's a case of looking clueless, a la Devon Smith.

But if it makes you feel better, go on hyping up Kirk Edwards as the saviour of West Indies cricket, and we will see what happens when he gets his chance....
THEN AFTER HE WAS WRONGLY JUDGED OUT IN HIS FIRST INNINGS YOU SAID!!..mikesiva wrote:The reason why Sars and Simmons are still in the side is because both Edwards and Brathwaite are not good enough yet....
Kirk can't play spin, and Kraigg needs more FC experience before being giving a tryout in the Test side.
Wah me tell you?mikesiva wrote:Kieran Powell and Kirk Edwards managed just nine runs between them....

We would've been better off sticking with Sarwan and Simmons.
What's the point of pushing youngsters into a team before their ready, just because they happen to be young?
So far, Powell and Edwards are failing the Rampaul Test.
