BRATHWAITE'S UNBEATEN TON LEADS WI U19 TO 116 RUN VICTORY

Miami, Florida – West Indies Under-19s had a comprehensive victory by 116 runs over the United States of America Under-19s in the first match of their four-match series on Saturday.

The Windies batted first after winning the toss on a slow pitch at the Broward County Cricket Stadium in Luaderhill, and made 278 for eight off their 50 overs. They then dismissed the home team for a mere 62 in the 28th over.

Leading the way with the bat was skipper Kraigg Brathwaite, who made a brilliant 121 not out. He got excellent support from newcomer Sunil Ambris with 67 in a partnership of 108 for the third wicket.

In the bowling department, seamer Kyle Mayers was almost unplayable as he destroyed the USA innings. He finished with five for 17 from six overs while spinner Donovan Nelson took two for four from three overs.

I know it's only for the u19's but the kid really is special imo, when you look at Powell yesterday and some of the rash shots the likes of Simmons and Barath keep getting out to i really pray Kraigg buckles down and learns from the others failures, yes his Test debut didn't go as well as we would have liked but he's still only 18, yet he still scored more runs than Powell, some said he didn't know where his stump was on his debut but i'm sure he can address that issue with no problem, he bats like a young Shiv and that's the kind of batters we need to go forward imo.

I did'nt yu actually saw those rash shots and ridiculous attitudes of such players the way yu defended lil Bravo.

how you go develop anyting at all if yu dont love to keep your wicket forever. let de opposition out yu but yu doh give then you wicket at any time at all.

at least 2 of his last innings lil Bravo buckled down and got good results in tuff situations. dat was a most hopeful sign from a very talented young player.

also not dat the trinidad playesr all appear to have tendencies to throw their wickets away. Barath, Simmons, Brava bar his 2 productive innings in is last 3..Pullhard, Big Bravo...all have similar attitudes at the crease and more often than not losing their wickets softly.

I dont think I saw simmons get ou once this season where he did not throw his wicket away

Lets remember Map Shiv took AGES to get his first ton, didn't he get 13 50s before he got his first 100? so Darren still has time, i'm confident he'll get across the line against Bangladesh later this year, the yute has had a tough start to his career man, first away to Sri-lanka who were ranked 4th at the time, then home to Pakistan on spinning tracks, then home to India who are ranked number one right now, and still his average is on the 40 mark,

I believe the yute will learn from his mistakes and be a major star for us in the near future, now back to Brathwaite, i pray that the yute gets another chance for the senior team against Bangladesh, his batting style is exactly what we need in that top order, a yute who values his wicket highly and will spend hours out there defending it, him and Barath should compliment eachother well i think.

(wat I meant to say is essential wat yu understood but it was relative to Braithwaites attitude...which is wat I did'nt think you valued...or selectively valued.....for you love it in Braithwaite but excuse its seeming lack in lil Bravo..)

however lil Bravo shud indeed make Bang pay. and this begins a run for westindies against the minnows we shud be thankful for the opportunity to rebuild in easier circumstances.
