What more can one say about Shivnarine Chanderpaul that has not already been said? Consistent, dependable, determined, dour, doughty, gritty, immovable, professional, rock-like, single-minded and other adjectives to the same effect have all been used repeatedly to describe the batting of the man from Unity and the most recent honorary citizen of Dominica.

QUOTE:
“Chanderpaul is the most irritating batsman to bowl to.” Indian quick bowler Ishant Sharma
That's a compliment paid to the Tiger.

YES, it is the man Chanderpaul… again. I post this as my browser refreshes itself on the cricinfo page updating the West Indies score at 91-3 in reply to Bangledesh's first innings total of 350-9 declared in the first test match. And right on queue Shivanarine Chanderpaul, playing his first game on tour, hits successive sixes to move his personal score to 38 and West Indies to 103-3.

If I was a selector I would keep picking Shiv at least till he has scored 10000 test runs as in my opinion he is more than deserving of that distinction. Currently batting with Shiv is Kraigg Brathwaite who is playing in his second test match. Long live Shiv!
