If Baich was given a fair shake at WI team, could he have made it as Shiv did?
Afterall he was discarded only after 3 games at an average of 46 and first class of 51 (I do believe).

I remember him playing for Guyana and West Indies.
Martin Williamson from cricinfo wrote:A left-hand opener with remarkable powers of concentration, Len Baichan made hundreds in his first two matches of the West Indies' 1974-75 tour of India and Pakistan, the second a match-saving effort in the second innings of the first Test at Lahore. A car accident meant he missed the Tests against India, and the presence of Roy Fredericks and Gordon Greenidge made it nigh on impossible for him to regain one of the opening slots. He made his third and final appearance - batting No. 3 - the following winter in the sixth Test against Australia at Melbourne where he made 3 and 20 against the might of Lillee and Thomson. That was that.
Coming up with his strike rate is gonna take some doing cos back then they didn't have such stats as a natural part of the records. I remember he was pretty sticky at the crease.

Greenidge obviously had a lot of ability.
the Oz pace attack, along with the oz empires, befuddled everybody on the westindies team, including baichan...broke Kallies nose among many blows to the westindies team and westindian pride.
everybody failed in the end save Viv. pay back wud have to wait for another time, during which the nebies wud develop. and develop deh did and payback we exerted.
stop with yuh crocodile tears. wasted water dat is. deh doh make nutten grow
