DEFENDING champions of Maraval will be looking to extend their hold on the One-Day Islandwide Windball Cricket Tournament which will be staged on Sunday, July 31 at the Edinburgh 500 Recreation Facilities in Chaguanas.
The competition, organized by former Caroni County Councillor Dennis Singh is expected to attract more than the 250 cricketers who took part last year and will get underway from 9 am. This year marks the 30th year the tournament is being staged.
The cricketers will be bidding for approximately $11,000 in prize money and Amstel-Bright has come on board as the main sponsor said Singh on Friday Teams desirous of taking part can register at Photo King at City Gate in Port-of- Spain or Sylvia's Photo Studio, upstairs Chaguanas Market.
Singh said outstanding players will also get the opportunity to cash in on attractive individual prizes including the bowler taking the most wicket and the batsman scoring the most runs.
