Looks like we find a replacement for Sammy ..

Bangladesh have won the toss and chosen to field. The big news is Darren Sammy is out with an upset stomach.
Denesh Ramdin will lead the side in his absence, some comeback this for Ramdin, who hasn't played an ODI since June 2010.

I always felt that Ramdin was the next Captain in line after Gayle, but when his batting plummeted and ended up losing a place in the team, it all went to pot. No disrespect to Carlton Baugh, because despite being limited, you can't fault his effort to improve and Devon Thomas is simply not ready yet, Ramdin is the best gloveman in the Caribbean and as long as he shows more discipline with his batting, should be the number one Keeper for the Windies.BallOil wrote:Looks like we find a replacement for Sammy ..![]()

Don't get your hopes up, Bally. With the way Roach bowled today, Sammy will be fit to play in the second ODI....
The thing is, silva, can a wickie captain a side given that he has to watch and field every ball? We're already seeing what effect it's starting to have on the form of Dhoni with both bat and gloves.

There is no doubt that Ramdin is the best glove man in the Caribbean and I think the break was a good one for him. He can still share the work with Baugh to avoid burned out and injuries..Silvamaine wrote:I always felt that Ramdin was the next Captain in line after Gayle, but when his batting plummeted and ended up losing a place in the team, it all went to pot. Coach David Williams echo the same sentiments in a recent interview...

Mike, Roach has on be on the field to improve. This is his first match on tour... He is still going under 6 an over.. Plus, we have Pollard and Samuels to fill in the overs if necessary.mikesiva wrote:Don't get your hopes up, Bally. With the way Roach bowled today, Sammy will be fit to play in the second ODI....

Dhoni plays too much cricket with a busy India and IPL schedule.. West Indians don't even play half the matches as India. Being an exkeeper myself, keepers are involved in every delivery when fielding and in a good viewpoint of the field and what the batting team is trying to do.

keeping is no place for a captain...clrj. i agree. some however can make a go of it.
ramdin looked real good today save his handling of Pollards bowling. he allowed pollard to do it his way. dats not good enuff.
polly is a kind of an idiot who must be made to play to a plan or forget it...batting and especially when bowling. today he chose to come into the left-hander, right into the meat of his drive, drop the ball perfectly to hit and was clouted all over the place.
Polly had to come over the wicket into the lefties side, on a good length and rising into the batsman, following him, cramping him...which would have made his deliveries a challenge to hit.
Ramdin shud have seen dat and from the first 66666, and ld Polly to change his angle by coming over the wicket, not round..on a good length into the batsmans right side.
Pollard shud have know that right off and come over the wicket himself. no one shud have to tell him that. but I dont see Pollard as the brightest bulb in that team
