Would've loved to have seen Richards in his pomp against the current bowlers in World Cricket.

He took apart a better crop of quality bowlers and these guys had a license to bowl anything without the rules that are protecting the run-machines in now. He faced fast bowlers with pads, gloves, box, thigh-pad and his cap. Could you imagine these current bunch of showponies even thinking about doing something like that?...

I consider myself fortunate enough to have been able to watch Viv at his swaggering best at Sabina Park, though, curiously, that wasn't one of his most productive grounds....

He paraded around the crease as if he owned it. And when opposing bowlers dared to bowl him a bouncer, well...you know the rest!

VIV wud be murder on buttered toast with jam on most of these fellas around since his retirement.

maybe Steyn and Murali before he quit...Warne, McGrath. I wud have loved to see Viv against McGrath.

Viv might have had to temper himsel against that list there. but he would have an even greater record against the rest of them today, than he has now

Yeah, these days the only pacer who has more than 20 Tests to his name and a bowling average of under 30 is Steyn....

Back in Viv's days, a lot of world-class pacers averaged in the low 20s.

Agreed, you can count on one hand the real top-quality bowlers around now, in his day the amount of great bowlers would easily get into double-figures.

McGrath was low average too. but I hate dat son of a gun so much VIV is the man I want to deal with him
Lara cud not treat McGrath the necessary way..something like Devon Malcolm came to understand. or Len Pascoe and McDermott.
