Just seen a clip of Gibbo giving the players a piece of his mind before the guys went out to bowl Bangs second innings!!..gwan Gibbo tell dem wukless skunts that dat performance wasn't good enough and you expect better!!.. ,

This is one of the worst performances I have seen by a West Indies team in a Test match in my three decades of watching them play....

things are far worse than I thought. ...far more advanced that I expeected. looks lke we will have a resolution of the Gibbo leadership sooner than later.

doing so must be a sign of great frustration on the part of gibbo.
why?
if he is dong a great job and enjoying success why wud he be frustrated enuff to reprimand his players in public?
such behaviour suggest failure...that what he has been doing isnt working, cant work, the players are'nt taking him on and its nearing an end for him as coach of the westindies. so he has lost all restraint and control, letting it fly in the open.
that will only make it worse for him, destroy his reputation such as its, and force factory road to fiyah him. he is also giving westindian coaches a bad name, supportng the elements who see only, expensive forrin coaches as useful.
the problem with gibbo is that he is UN-Worrell. he has no ideological perspective that guides him positively in the world as worrled did, or lloyd has. as result he does not know the westindian reality apart from the content of hif life...when he was born and the time he has lived.
he knows nothing before that, how westindies got to this day, what we are as a people and what is required rfor our success. as such he cant guide and motivate the players, has nothing beyond cricket to tell them, or try to teach them.

I don't object to the Coach having a go at the players, if he thinks they're doing something he's not happy about. But to do it in public, instead of in the Dressing Room is highly unprofessional. He's not going to bring inspiration to some young, impressionable players in this team, just intimidation, anger and resentment for being told off like little kids, where everybody can see. It's pretty obvious that the Board has given him too much power and this kind of Headmaster mentality is getting to his head.

As we all know, Bishoo is an attacking leg-spinner, but like all attacking leggies, he's prone to be expensive. I got the impression from his field settings that Sammy was more concerned with limiting runs than taking wickets. He seemed to be worried about when Rahim would make his declaration....

gibbo is Un-Worrell. read wwat james says about Worrles ways in Beyond A Boundary.
chiefly Worrell as master tactician, senior and educated in all ways, whout the westindies, westindians etc., came to know wat was wrong always and the players came to know dat deh wud be told instantly what was wrong and wat to do fix it and were left alone to do the job.
Worrell told nobody anythng else. deh were men and were treated like men. the expectation was/is that if they knew what was right by their own reasoing or by capoos directive deh wud put it right, for that is what responsible mendo, how deh lived.
James pointed the tremendous step forward that represented in westindian social relations, how it drew out of players what deh demselves did not know deh had in them. and at the end thay only could shake their heads and walk away, for they had been led to a self awarness and level of performance they had no idea deh were capable of.
Gibbo is nowhere near there. in fact he seems the opposite. but Worrell-like is what westindies need at this time. and no one in the wicb have even a clue
