BTW - IMHO I think a keeper should not be de Cappo also....I think that the mental draining of being a wicketkeeper is too much to overcome in the long run....Dhoni will soon feel the same stress Sangakara felt until he gave it up to concentrate on his own game....
I bet you after the Indian summer in England, Dhoni was probably tempted to call it quits.

wat wrong with essays? deh good to keep the brain lengthy in all this truncation on mesage boards, tv shows, blurbs everywhere etc.
allyuh have to keep the brain flowing by focusing on somethng long at least once a day.
anyhow keeping and captaining doh compute. all experience has demonstrated that. but I never see no rule or trend to which there werent an exception or several
Dhoni, Sangy, Alexander of the westindies, Deryck Murray of Titty was a good skipper...so to is Ramdin. all thse guys seemed or seem able to overcome the difficulties posed by keeping and leading at the same time
Dhoni especially. I was worried about him in the westindies and in england, during which time I came to see him as a conservative and bully captain...who piled on when he was on top but was questionable otherwise.
he did play well with england while losing but I felt he was like toast..his run at the top compromised.
the way he has repsonded in cutting england ras properly, totally, comprehensively, this time around, adding great personal performancs is really, truly magnificent.
Dhoni has risen to the top in my book from this.
but in the history of the game there have been few keeper captains and apart from these I dont know of any who was really successful, over a decent period of time

dhoni is truly good, the real deal.
not only exception to rule he has become the model, the ideal. we have now to measure all of dem who occupied/occupy dat position against him
sangy is a great batsmanand competent captain but now I dont think he is as good a leader as dhoni.

wat India needed...certainly in ODI and T20 was a youth infusion. deh instituted dat and boom night and day
it is also time to take youth into the Indian test team. Dhoni has the opportunity to span 2 great periods of Indian cricket in his career...the best side India ever had and the rebuilding of another great one before he is done.
anyhow it takes a type like Dhoni to make the near impossible work. it is nearly impossible to be a great captain and keeper.

Don't get me wrong!!! Essays are very good if someone else is reading them for you...yuh see I have a short attention span!! 
Regarding keeper being Cappo...I agree that Dhoni cameback very good against the POMS but I need to see his next overseas tour....

to highlight dhoni even further is a comparison between he and Ramdin.
in leading westindies to victory in his that recent ODI Ramdin demonstrated his considerable leadership abilities. and Ramdin appears able to take keeping and leading easily in stride. Ramdin can do the job of leading and keeping..his keeping abilites well up to test level
wat the hell is it thats wrong or missing in Ramdin then?
his batting for sure is poor though he demonstrates excellent batting skils. am I wrong in seeing him straddle the twin jobs easily?
has just the keeping wiped Ramdin out already and he cant score for anything?

I am not a fan of selecting keepers young. I would select keepers over 25 to 28. maybe in Ramdins case being selected so young has not worked out in his favour. Maybe another year or 2 of rest in easier dung heap will solve his problemn
