To start off...What are your opinion of the MEDIOCRE scores in this current regional limited overs tournament? Is it high quality bowling of just piss poor batting?

Westdem ,
Let me again take this opportunity to say that ALL our Players are not playing enough Cricket . because of the fact that they are Part Time Cricketers . They inherited that status when they were banned from playing Cricket in England . I outlined my perspective in a Post on this MB regarding the fact that our Players did not have a warm up match prior to the first Test Match in Bangladesh .
I have always stated that that should be done ; especially since in the golden Eras of West Indies Cricket our players had two important things going for them . First , they were Full Time Cricketers due to the fact that when not representing the Region ; they were playing Cricket in England .
Secondly the Scheduling Format in those days had them playing a lot of matches prior to the First Test Match and between the other Test Matches , including playing about half of all the Counties in England . Obviously this accounts for their enormous powers of concentration ; and Physical and Mental Stamina .
When England imposed the ban , that reduced the status of our Players to being Part Time Cricketers . Did the WICB do anything to help our Players maintain their competitiveness ???
the answer is NO . ALL this is compounded by the fact that the advent of the current ICC Scheduling Format , which is vastly different from that of our Players who played Cricket in the Golden Eras of West Indies Cricket .
My take is that the current ICC scheduling Format is more beneficial to Countries whose Players
play Cricket Full Time ; as opposed to Countries whose Players play Cricket Part Time , which is the catagory that our Players are in . It is for that reason why I have advocated that the WICB should have Camps for our Team ; of not less than 3 weeks .

Welcome back, Point....
Yes, the decline of WI cricket can be traced back to the days when our players could no longer play county cricket. To play in England, as a batsman you have to learn how to move your feet, and that ability then means you can adjust to play anywhere in the world. Bowlers also learn how to use overhead conditions to get swing, etc, instead of relying on raw pace.
