IMHO, Kraigg Brathwaite should not be shunted into the Test team until he's played another full season for Barbados, between Jan-April next year....

You don't want to make him into another Xavier Marshall by exposing his batting weaknesses too early. Let Dessie work with him, and let Dessie say when he's ready.

As for Kirk Edwards, his technique is too loose to open the batting in Tests. He could do it in ODIs, but not as a Test batsman. Maybe he could come in for Sarwan in the middle order, but I don't have much confidence in him right now....

If Kirk is the alternative, then I would rather stick with Sarwan, and hope he regains his form sooner rather than later.

PS You only have to look at replays of the ODIs to see that Kirk is extremely suspect to spin. It's not anything to do with trying to score fast, it's a case of looking clueless, a la Devon Smith.

But if it makes you feel better, go on hyping up Kirk Edwards as the saviour of West Indies cricket, and we will see what happens when he gets his chance....

I agree on Braithwaite. I think his problem is youth and he needs to mature a bit..another year or 2.

I also do not see Kirk Edwards as very much yet he deserves his chance in test if deh are going to make a change.

but if he is included he shud be included in the middle order, not in the opening postion.

I maintain however that it is better to leave the batting as it is until the end of this series

LOL as usual Mike you're talking a whole load of NONSENSE with not a single piece of evidence to back it up!! , anyone who's watched Kirk's innings in the ODIs will see the only problem he's had is keeping up with the run rate and batting in a position that is alien to him i.e opener,

Has he gotten out to spin a few times? of course but guess what? the majority of them were NOT by lbw but by rash shots and that's where the run rate comes into play, which is why your claim that he was "another Devon Smith" was ridiculous beyond belief!!, he got a 40 not out not so long ago against Pak's spinners too by the way,

The bottom line is Sars is DONE, he just looks lost at the wicket now and Edwards has earned his chance after the fine FC season he had, Brathwaite might lack experience but at the end of the day Simmons is a walking wicket right now and i can't see what we have to lose by giving Kraigg another chance, either him or Powell should come in for Simmons imo.

Having looked at both Simmons and Sarwan in their second innings, and they way they got out, it seems to me that they've both lost confidence....

It might be a good idea to drop them for the final Test in Dominica, and maybe give Kirk Edwards a chance in the middle. Hell, he can't do worse than sarwan right now!

But who to open the batting? Brathwaite shouldn't be sacrificed against this attack, which will kill him. Gayle is no closer to coming to any kind of compromise with the WICB. And there's no domestic cricket currently being played, so it doesn't make sense calling anyone else up. Persist with Simmons for the final Test, then?

You change your tune now Mike? I TOLD YOU SARS WAS DONE!!, the man just doesn't have it anymore, and i fully expect to see Edwards step in for the next Test, as for Brathwaite, well needless to say i totally disagree, there's a good chance we might not have anything to play for in the final Test so why not give Kraigg some more vital experience against top opposition? he's already scored a ton for the A-team so he's no rabbit, his debut was tough but i believe he will have learned from that and will come back stronger.

How about Baugh open the batting ...? He and Simmons have the same FC avg.

Deonarine is a good replacement for Sarwan, plus he bowls.... Deo has a good average too. so if Baugh lock up the opening spot, and Deo at #4, Bravo at 3, Edwards at 7, we good for third test.

Well Baugh's last innings got more runs than Sarwan has got in TWO TESTS to rhatid!! , Sars DONE,

But anyway you agree that he should be dropped right? because right now you look like you nah want to say anything about the situation!! .
